About the instructor
Angie Taylor is a Dr. of Natural Health who believes we've all lost sight of what real wellness feels like. As an Authentic Midwife, and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Angie discovered that the emotional state is what runs wellness. Angie became a Board Certified Holistic Alternative Psychology Master, Certified Aromatherapist, and Certified Aroma Freedom Technique Practitioner so that she could better serve her clients; knowing that clearing the body of negative emotional garbage would ultimately lead to total wellness in mind, body and spirit. Angie is also Dr. Perkus' personal assistant and the Aroma Freedom Academy Administrator.

Who am I? My name is Angie Taylor and I DON'T WANT TO BE A WEIGHT LOSS COACH and yet, here I am.....
I haven’t always been fat. I lived a happy, healthy, naturally thin life until after the birth of my oldest child. I had 15 pounds left to lose and asked my doctor what her suggestions were. Instead of teaching me how the lactating body works, she suggested that I try Ultra Slim Fast. I gained 30 pounds in 30 days and began my journey to discover what was "wrong" with me.
Over the next 28 years I would follow every diet, read every article and even decide to get a degree in natural health so I could heal myself. I learned A LOT about the body, natural health modalities, AND holistic nutrition however, everything about weight loss was based on the “calories in - calories out” dieting paradigm that I had already learned didn’t work.
It took 6 years to complete my degree. I felt as though I was closer to the answer but my education had not given me the full picture. I was a bit frustrated, which has kept me on my journey to discover EXACTLY what I was missing. What had my education not taught me about the human body?
One day, our youngest daughter came home from school and proclaimed, "Mom, I will never be as fat as you. I have a plan." As the tears welled up in my eyes, I listened intently as she shared her plan with me. It was the weight loss garbage that DOESN'T WORK! I smiled at her and said, "If you will learn what I am doing RIGHT NOW, then, no, you'll never be as fat as me."
Dieting had taken away my confidence. I felt worthless and ugly all the time. My husband even told me he was no longer attracted to me because I was fat. I hid a lot of shame and guilt behind my smile. I hated what I saw in the mirror and did my makeup and hair as quickly as possible so I didn’t have to look at myself for very long. I just wanted to like myself again. I wanted to rediscover the joy and confidence I once had.
As I have worked on my own healing, I’ve come to realize that dieting - every single thing we learn while dieting - actually works against the body’s innate wisdom and knowledge.
The body doesn’t need us to tell it how many calories it can have over the course of the day, week, month, or years. It’s our job to simply respond to all of its fuel need signals.
Food, in and of itself, is not the issue. Denying fuel to the body when it’s in need of fuel IS the problem. Dieting creates emotional and psychological trauma and until that trauma has been healed and the relationship with food repaired, the body will never settle on it's ideal weight.
Life is not and should not be about losing weight. Life is about WELLNESS and wellness is certainly not about losing weight. Your weight is a SYMPTOM it is not the core problem.
Wellness is about nourishing the body. We don’t just nourish the body with the foods we eat and the liquids we drink. We also nourish the body with the personal care and household products we use, the relationships we participate in, the books we read, the movies we watch, the music we listen to, the way we think and talk to ourselves, the air we breathe, the way we handle our finances, the way we view the world and our circumstances, etc.
The way we live our lives is all about nourishing the body….it’s about rediscovering how joyful life was designed to be.
Once we have provided the body with everything it needs, it will then take care of itself.
It’s not something that happens overnight. There are bad habits to replace with good ones. There are psychological and emotional programs to rewrite. There are life cycles to break and dieting rules to destroy.

Going from being healthy and naturally thin to being tired, fat and made to believe that it was all my fault when it was actually the fault of a medical community that honestly doesn’t really understand how the body works compelled me to change the course of my life.
Being fat, fatigued, and generally out of balance isn’t a good way to experience life. It’s a great way to line the pockets of pharmaceutical companies. I will never get tired of talking about how incredible the human body is AND how many intricate processes we interfere with simply because we don’t understand how to truly and fully nourish the body.
